Globalstar, Inc. (GSAT) has officially begun expanding its ground station in Singapore, a crucial step in enhancing its satellite communications infrastructure across Southeast Asia. Since 2008, the station has been hosted by Singtel, and the latest upgrade will include two additional 6-meter tracking antennas to support Globalstar’s next-generation C-3 mobile satellite system (MSS). This new addition is designed with the future in mind, ensuring the facility can adapt to emerging technologies and evolving user demands for years to come.

The expansion in Singapore not only strengthens Globalstar’s presence in the region but also aligns with its broader strategy to boost satellite coverage and network capacity. This move is part of a larger global initiative to expand the C-3 system, which includes plans to install about 90 new tracking antennas worldwide. With new facilities planned in the United States, Spain, Japan, and Canada, Globalstar is laying the groundwork for a truly interconnected satellite network that can handle the growing demand for mobile satellite communications.

The company’s recent financial performance also reflects this growth. Globalstar reported a revenue of $67.1 million in the last quarter, an 11% increase compared to the same period last year. This surge in revenue is primarily driven by strong growth in wholesale capacity services and the Commercial IoT sector. Additionally, Globalstar signed a launch services agreement with SpaceX for its second set of replacement satellites, which are under construction by MDA Space. The company also secured approval from the FCC's Space Bureau for its petition to expand the C-3 mobile satellite network.

In a significant move to bolster its defense capabilities, Globalstar entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Army. This partnership will focus on testing its edge-processing satellite solutions, which are compact, lightweight, and low-power devices designed to ensure secure, autonomous communications in challenging environments.

This collaboration underscores Globalstar’s commitment to enhancing the security and reliability of satellite communications, particularly in demanding defense applications. It is also a testament to the growing recognition of Globalstar’s innovative technology in both commercial and defense sectors.

In July, the company took another major step by signing definitive agreements with Telecom Castilla-La Mancha, S.A. (Telecom CLM) to significantly expand its Alcazar Teleport facility in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. This strategic expansion is part of the ongoing development of Globalstar's C-3 system, aimed at providing resilient and uninterrupted connectivity throughout Europe.

Looking ahead, Globalstar has reaffirmed its financial outlook for 2025, with total projected revenues ranging from $260 million to $285 million and an adjusted EBITDA margin of around 50%. The company expects minimal impact from tariffs and remains confident about its growth trajectory.

As of now, Globalstar holds a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), reflecting the company’s robust performance. Its shares have surged 53.4% over the past year, compared to a 67.5% growth in the Satellite and Communications industry.
