In a recent interview, Stanley Song, Deputy General Manager of the Overseas Sales Central Department at Hytera, shared exciting insights on the company’s innovations, strategic partnerships, and vision for the Middle East region.
Hytera Communications Corp., Ltd. showcased several cutting-edge solutions that emphasize how artificial intelligence (AI), video analytics, and mobility technologies are reshaping operational efficiency.
"Each year, we aim to surprise our audience with something new," Stanley Song said with enthusiasm. "This year, we’re introducing our most innovative solution yet—the ‘Intelligent Mobility Video Hotseat Solution.’ This integration platform combines body cameras and in-car cameras to monitor driver behavior, such as detecting smoking or signs of fatigue. The system offers real-time insight into the driver’s status and integrates AI analysis to enhance decision-making."
The system can automatically analyze faces and license plates, identifying individuals or vehicles that match criminal databases. "If the system detects something suspicious, it instantly alerts the driver to assess the situation," Song explained. "Simultaneously, all data is transmitted in real-time to the command and control center, allowing commanders to make swift, informed decisions."
In addition to the hotseat solution, Hytera presented various other innovations across its range of devices and technologies.
Song emphasized that Hytera’s core mission rests on two pillars—security and operational efficiency. "Our mission is to secure the world through technology and enhance operational efficiency," he stated. "This is especially critical for industries like public safety, where law enforcement needs to protect citizens and cities. Our technologies—whether it’s voice, video, AI, or 5G—support their mission."
Hytera’s solutions extend beyond public safety to sectors like oil and gas, utilities, and more. "These industries rely on technology to ensure smooth operations," Song said. "Our goal is to minimize downtime, boost productivity, and make operations safer and more efficient through innovation."
Despite the many benefits of AI, Song acknowledged the challenges it presents. "Like any technology, AI has its pros and cons," he noted. "While we unlock its full potential, we must also ensure it’s secure. In our industry, security is paramount. If a system isn’t secure, it could be used against you."
He explained that security is woven into every layer of Hytera’s product design—from encryption and authentication to redundancy and cybersecurity. "If one system fails, a backup automatically takes over without delay," Song highlighted. "This approach is embedded in our terminals, applications, and infrastructure products."
Hytera’s strong presence in the Middle East has lasted for over 15 years, and Song proudly shared that the company has built a solid reputation and customer base. "We have ongoing projects with key customers that are in the final stages," he revealed.
For Hytera, GITEX remains a vital platform to showcase their latest innovations and engage with potential customers. "GITEX is an ideal place to connect with partners and clients from the GCC and across the globe. Even with competitors, we find ways to collaborate and explore new opportunities. It’s truly a hub for networking and innovation."
Looking to the future, Song confirmed that Hytera will continue introducing the latest technologies to the Middle East. "Customers in this region are eager for new innovations," he said. "Whenever we introduce something new at Hytera, the Middle East is the first place we bring it to, allowing customers to test and experience it firsthand."
Song added that Hytera is expanding local collaborations through joint R&D centers. "We already have three R&D centers working closely with local customers. These partnerships bring fresh ideas, which we transform into market-ready products. This collaborative approach allows us to meet customer needs while empowering local talent with Hytera’s expertise. This is a key area of growth for us in the region."
