Motorola Solutions Unveils New Avigilon Features to Enhance Enterprise Security and Improve Coordination with First Responders
Motorola Solutions has announced several advanced features for its Avigilon physical security suite, including the launch of Alta SOS at ISC West this week. These innovations aim to streamline enterprise security systems, enhancing protection for employees, visitors, and service providers, while ensuring direct, effective communication with first responders during emergencies.
The newly introduced Alta SOS feature allows users to instantly share vital security information—such as emergency contacts, evacuation plans, building floor plans, utility data, live camera feeds, and access details—with 911 dispatchers. This capability addresses the critical need for businesses to collaborate seamlessly with emergency personnel, enabling a quicker, more efficient response in crisis situations.
Avigilon Alta is part of Motorola Solutions’ broader enterprise security offerings, which include video surveillance, access control, intercom systems, 24/7 virtual monitoring, mailroom package management, wireless locks, and visitor management systems. This comprehensive solution is designed to help businesses manage increasing security risks to their people, operations, and assets. Additionally, Motorola Solutions will showcase the acquisition of InVisit, a cloud-based visitor management solution provider, which further strengthens their portfolio.
“In high-pressure situations, every second matters,” said Alex Kazerani, Senior Vice President of Cloud Video Security & Access Control at Motorola Solutions. “Alta SOS ensures critical information reaches first responders faster, allowing them to make informed decisions and respond efficiently. Businesses need security systems that adapt to evolving threats and provide real-time solutions.”
The Avigilon Unity platform, which offers high-performance, on-premises physical security solutions, is particularly suited for large, multi-site operations like hospitals, manufacturing facilities, and critical infrastructure. A new feature in Avigilon Unity enables security operators to identify complex events using natural language commands. For example, operators can set alerts like, "notify me if there is smoke and people running." The system will then monitor all cameras across the site, providing real-time alerts and ensuring swift action in emergency situations.
“The security challenges facing large enterprises are multifaceted, but their systems shouldn’t be complicated,” said Hamish Dobson, Corporate Vice President of Avigilon Unity at Motorola Solutions. “By leveraging large language models, Avigilon Unity transforms raw security data into actionable insights, offering the flexibility of natural language to drive timely alerts.”
Visitors to ISC West, taking place from April 2 to 4 in Las Vegas at booth #14059, will have the opportunity to experience these new features and other enhancements firsthand. The acquisition of InVisit is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025, contingent upon the satisfaction of closing conditions.
