Lumen Reaches Milestone with Over 1,000 Customers on Its On-Demand Network Services

Lumen Technologies has announced a significant achievement, with its Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform now serving more than 1,000 customers since its launch in late 2023. This innovative service allows businesses to seamlessly connect offices, cloud providers, and data centers within minutes, offering flexible, scalable solutions like Internet On-Demand, Ethernet On-Demand, and IP VPN On-Demand.

Among the notable customers are Best Buy, C3Aero, Churchill Downs, Foot Locker, and Pac-12 Enterprises. The platform not only provides scalable bandwidth but also integrates robust security features, including DDoS Essentials and Lumen Defender, ensuring secure and uninterrupted connections.

Lumen's extensive network spans 163,000 on-net buildings and stretches across 340,000 fiber-route miles. Looking ahead, the company plans an ambitious expansion, with plans to add 47 million intercity fiber miles by 2028. This expansion will further boost the company’s network capacity, exceeding 100G to meet future demands. Core routes are also being upgraded to handle the growing need for faster and more reliable connections.

Lumos Expands Ohio’s Fiber Network, Connecting 226,000 Addresses

Lumos is set to make waves in Ohio with its latest fiber optic expansion, bringing high-speed internet to 226,000 addresses across 27 cities and communities, including Lorain, Elyria, and Cleveland Heights. This marks the company's fifth major fiber project in the state. The nearly 3,000 miles of new fiber infrastructure will enhance connectivity for remote work, online learning, and telehealth services, especially in underserved regions.

Lumos’ service will be available through T-Mobile Fiber or under the Lumos brand. Customers can choose from plans starting at $55 per month, offering 500 Mbps speeds, unlimited data, and symmetrical upload and download capabilities, all with no hidden fees. The network promises to deliver cutting-edge connectivity, ensuring residents have access to fast, reliable internet. Construction is expected to begin in late 2025, with future customers able to check availability and register for updates at fiber.t-mobile.com.

Motorola Solutions Strengthens Communication Infrastructure with Silvus Technologies Acquisition

Motorola Solutions has officially completed its acquisition of Silvus Technologies Holdings, Inc., a Los Angeles-based developer of mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET). Silvus’s technology allows devices to form self-configuring mesh networks, enabling seamless communication across voice, video, and data streams without relying on fixed infrastructure. This is particularly beneficial for operations in mobile and remote environments like military, public safety, and disaster response.

The acquisition significantly enhances Motorola Solutions' capabilities in infrastructure-independent communication systems. It also expands the company’s reach into emerging areas such as drones, unmanned systems, and other mission-critical applications. The integration of Silvus Technologies will fortify Motorola’s position as a leader in advanced communication solutions, particularly for sectors requiring reliable and continuous connectivity in the most challenging environments.
